Introducing WinterCon – #ewc09

There’s tons of conferences out there – Urbana, Catalyst, Gospel Coalitions, Hillsong, Tech Conferences, _________ Conference, the list is endless.

WinterCon (short for Winter Conference) is a conference designed specially for us – the “us” being University students from across Canada with a desire of drawing closer to God.

I’ll be aloof @ WinterCon for the next few days, and so will be using the #ewc09 twitter hashtag – it’s usually annoying when I don’t know what a hashtag is about, so hopefully this post serves as a good intro.

I’ll leave you with the promo video for WinterCon.

Question: If you’ve attended conferences before, what’s your favorite and why? If you haven’t attended a conference before, which one would you like to attend, and why?

I attended a couple in the USA some years ago, the biggest rally was 8k people. It was amazing. You really get pumped for God after attending one of those… 8 THOUSAND people worshiping (your age)… Pillar, and a couple other awesome bands were playing, and there was a huge skatepark with some pros doing demonstrations, and there were tables set up with like 15-20 xbox 360s and 4 controllers so you could jump into a game of halo with some random people, it was really cool.

Cool Dan – thanks for sharing! 8 thousand people worshipping together… WOW!

Here we've got around 4-500, but it's still so amazing to worship together!

The skatepark and xbox-ing sounds practical – blending into people's lives, and allowing them to worship God, and have fun at the same time!
