Ms. Plachta is my most memorable teacher from High School, and one of the best teachers ever (can be attested to by scores of other students). She was behind the enriched Computer Science classes & the PEG club (Programming Enrichment Group) at my High School (Woburn C.I.), and I attribute my technical expertise today to her. She passed away recently due to Cancer.
Reflecting back, her greatest gift to me personally was her belief in me – it always felt like she believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. I wanted to become a good programmer and problem solver, but I didn’t think I was capable. Her presence kept me going, and I did get reasonably good, primarily because of her.
Thank you Ms. Plachta! You live on in all of us.
