Up to Speed – An Introduction to the current trip

I have been involved with a Christian club at school called Campus for Christ for the past 3 years. Campus for Christ is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20) with a vision to “help change the world by turning lost students into Christ-centered laborers”. Through Campus for Christ, I have been discipled, trained in sharing my faith, and inspired to keep Christ first in everything I do.

For the last 2 years, I had the privilege of going on missions trips to Scotland organized by Campus for Christ during our campus “Reading Break” holidays in February. Scotland has a rich Christian heritage, raising the question – Why go to Scotland? Despite its spiritual history, our current generation is virtually unreached. Churches are dying – some church buildings have even been converted to bars. Most students I met in Scotland had not heard about the claims of Jesus, and believed in relativism (the belief that truth is subjective and not absolute) and pluralism (the belief that all religious paths are true).

In Scotland, we had the opportunity to: share about Jesus with students, encourage, learn from and train Christian students in the Universities, and hold events to raise the spiritual awareness on University campuses. Recently, Campus for Christ has mobilized a year-long student team to Scotland to follow up on the seeds sown and relationships that were built. Inspired by my experiences in Scotland, and considering the effectiveness of the trips in the past 2 years, I decided to go on the missions trip again this year during my days off school during Feb 13th – 21st.

Since my time is limited, my updates during the trip will be very limited, but I hope to share more after the trip.

Thank you for reading! Feel free to leave comments, snippets of encouragement, or share your experiences on a missions trip.

God bless,

-Suraj
